What a strange trip this is becoming. I WAS in labor.........called mw wed. with contractions 7min apart. This being our 4th and living about an hour away we all agreed to meet at the hospital. Got the 20min test strip done...contracting away. Was dilating, etc. About 1 hour later everything stopped!!!!! NO CONTRACTIONS! We tried walking, water, etc. I dilated to 4 and quit. With ds2 I got to the hospital at 3-4 and was holding him within 2 hours. I am now 4cm LOTS of bloody show all day yesterday and still today. I have never had bloody show without being in active labor. WTH is going on????? Mw was great. No talk of breaking waters, pit, etc. She justsaid to go home. I felt so stupid! She assured me not to feel that way as she agreed it sounded like we needed to come in. This truly has been the oddest "labor" yet. Contractions off and on all day yesterday 2 that woke me up last night, but that's it. My dh is so afraid I won't listen to my body for fear of being wrong again that I'll have the babe in the car! So I sit and wait..............again.

Kathy, I CAN'T believe it. I am so sorry. I got up out of bed early this morning just to see if you'd posted about having this baby (and because I made fresh oatmeal bread last night and wanted to have some .)

Your prodromal labor story now completely tops mine. You shouldn't feel stupid at all. I think anyone who is planning to give birth outside their home would have gone in like you did, particularly with your history.

It's got to be soon, Kathy. I hope your day isn't too frustrating today. Do something special for yourself, whether that is to relax a little extra, go somewhere you love to go, call a good friend, whatever. And if you are one to indulge in a little wine once in a while, have a glass of wine and a bath tonight (if you aren't in labor again by then!)

Take good care and rest as best you can. I'm a little envious of your four cms!!!

Emily= I think a glass of wine might just be perfect tonight! Dh and I slept like the dead last night after a night of no sleep so today I feel much better. I do feel like a bit of a walking time bomb! Surely it can't be much longer? O is up..........k

You know, it might have stopped *because* you went in. That happens a lot and it's probably much better than you left and went home. Relax and let life happen and it will come.

Tara- I wondered too if that is why it stopped, but that has never happened with the others. Who knows. Between yesterday and today I have had tons of bloody show, but that seems to have stopped and now very loose stools. Gross, but there it is. Contractions come and go.....no real rhyme or reason to them. I had predicted Friday for myself. We'll see.
