It may sound funny(as do most things I say) but it really is true. I went to see doc. yesterday, well actually saw the resident that is also following my care and was told it was time to do the GBS test.Fine.Whatever. And he wanted to do a vag. and anal swab. I know this is normal but have done some reading on the acuracy of the anal part of the test and opted out of it. So I told him he wasn't going to be swabbing my anus. The look on his face was priceless!! He told me (uncomfortably) that the strep could live in my butt and be passed onto the baby durring birth. I told him I didn't plan on the baby coming out of my ass. He thought this was funny and laughed(that's always my intention). Then he says that the strep can transfer from the outside of my anus to the baby and I told him then we'll just have to put a piece of tape over my butthole durring labor.
. All in all it was very funny and he ended up just doing the vaginal swab...not without me hasselling him about it..."is this your first time swabbing a vagina" I said.He said "I've done a few". I say "So this is your third". Then when it was over I said "That's it? I could have done that myself!!"
Anyway, hope you get a kick out of my little endever yesterday! I've only gained another pound in the past month so that's not that good but everything else seems really fine. Schedualed an ultrasound for next week!
