do you ever feel like you need as much sleep as your baby?

dd will sleep 10+ hours at night and I often find that I need that much sleep too. Or at least I feel that way. She is 7 1/2 months so I though I'd be through the fatigue by now.
Maybe its just habit? What do you think?

Best advice ever given to me was "sleep when your baby sleeps. At least for the full first year"

So I did exactly that. When ds napped I did too, when he was out for the night I was too. I know it gets hard if you are working, but when people ask if they can help say yes and tell then what to help with, the dishes, the laundry, anything so when you are lying down your not thinking of using that time for anything else but sleep and closeness to your baby.

My ds it 6 and I still go to bed with him at 8:30pm. I wake up much earlier to do the things I need to, but I so much enjoy getting to fall asleep next to him, and some nights my DP will wake me to sleep with him, but not very often. I sleep much better with ds, and so does ds.

Absolutely! DS goes to bed at 7 or 8, and I'm down with him. I don't get to take naps with him because I WOH full-time. I do feel sad that once I get home we only have 3 to 4 hours of good play time, but I figure the nightly snuggles help make up for some of that, plus we have the weekends.
Anyway, I think that having a baby is exhausting, we don't actually sleep 10 hours straight, we get up at 2 for a nursing session and lately it takes us both a few minutes to get back to sleep again after DS eats.

I figure you might as well go with what your body is telling you to do, so I just sleep when I can.

We just had a talk about this at my house... I realised that the reason I wake up better on the morings after I've gone to bed with Kate is that since we co-sleep, we are on roughly the same sleep cycle. If I wait an hour or three, we aren't in synch and so every hour +45 min one of us is waking, dh, dd or me.
So its to bed I go with my babe. at least for another month or two!
Glad to hear I'm not alone!
