Just got a cheap manicure...

... and I swear they sprayed my nails with Rat Poison!!! Seriously it smells strongly of pesticide - roach spray - bug killer - YUCK! I keep getting whiffs and my stomach turns!

I tried washing my hands to get the stuff off, but that didn't work - should I break out the nail polish remover??? But then I would be covering the harsh chemicals with harsh chemicals and where does that get me???

Any advice on how to de-tox from a bad manicure???

Maybe you could go back to the place and ask them how to remove it?

I had my nails done ONCE (for my wedding) and I will never have them done again! It was awful! It took months for all that crap to come off. I didn't try anything special though.

Take the nail polish off, that is likely what smells - and it won't stop stinking for a couple days or so. Take the nail polish off, wash your hands and put on some nice lotion.

I used to get my nails done all the time, some salons still use polishes with fomaldehyde and toluene - both of which reek to high heaven.
