I know I'm getting paranoid because I'm so close to delivering (supposedly!), but has anyone else's df (dear fetus?) slowed down lately?
He's never been a real mover & shaker, pretty quiet most of the time. But he seems almost lethargic lately.... probably just no room to move, I guess.
I can always get him to move if i lay down, so i shouldn't worry, right?

I think it's common. DS just did this - really quiet over Christmas and then popped out on the 29th.

Babies will often get really quiet in the days before they are born. It's normal, common, and nothing to worry about. My kids did it, I never worried. This one has its days

Thanks. I had heard they tend to slow down but my dd didn't and a birth instructor at the hosp. said that was a misconception and that we should feel their normal patterns even when we're in active labor! (that sounds weird to me).

Hang in there, girls! Can't wait to hear about everyone's births & babes

I've definitely noticed this in the past day or two too. My guy still moves, but he's not the kickboxer he once was. I figure it's a combo of getting more cramped in my belly and starting to save some energy for labor. Drinking a glass of cold water still gets him going!

Huh..either my babe is just different..or she doesnt want to be born until February, cause she's just as active as ever. And when she moves DURING a contraction it hurts sooooo much.

Mine has definititly slowed down. Still moves regularly, has more noticeable patterns (sleep maybe) but movements feel more like someone trying to stretch out and get comfy rather than having a dance party. Whenever I get a bit worried I jiggle my tummy a bit. Then she moves around for a while and calms my nerves.

Last week, I noticed more movement. Not stronger, actually more mellow, but happening more often. Just the past couple days or so, it's backed off, and I wondered about it. But I still get movement, and it's like Amy said, stretching, rolling around to get comfy type stuff, so I'm not too worried.

This baby is moving and I can tell its moving to find a good spot. It's cramped and uncomfy, even with the copeous amounts of fluid I can tell though that its really trying to line up right. I can feel it wiggling its sweet little head. Maybe if it would get its sweet little arm away from its face it could find the light easier

I had noticed last week that my baby was moving a whole lot less and it started to worry me. Then all of a sudden this week he's back to those real big movements again. So I agree, as long as the baby's moving some, I don't think it's really anything to worry about. And the cold glass of water really gets my baby going too!
