I was just going over a website for one of our MDC mama's son. He has Krabbe disease and he was helped by the donation of cord blood from a baby. If you deliver in a facility that allows you to donate your baby's cord blood, please think about doing it. It won't cost you a thing to donate it. I know there are pros and cons to this-- I'm pretty sure you would have to clamp before the cord stops pulsing (ie standard procedure at most hospitals). You of course have to weigh the pros and cons of it, but IF you plan to deliver at a hospital and IF you plan to go along with standard procedure, consider cord blood donation.
