The pain of recovery!!

I seem to have somehow injured a rib!!! I think that my rib cage must have been really stressed during the pregnancy, and now that things are "settling" back into place one of my ribs is really sore!! I didn't have any of this with Gracie. It's like having a constant side-cramp, and sometimes it is just a terrible stabbing. I was adjusted yesterday and that seemed to help, but then I was reaching for some clothes while cleaning Gracie's room, and I seem to have pulled or strained it again. Ugh........ I am using the stupid pain meds I was off from the c/s just to manage the rib pain!!!

In good news though, I have actually managed to get on two pairs of my pre-pregnancy jeans!!! These are my "fat jeans" though, not the size I should be. They're actually 4 or 5 sizes bigger than I wear when lean and healthy!! But they're not maternity clothes, and that makes me feel great!!

Heh. I'm wearing a pair of my pre-preggy jeans right now. It's a wonderful feeling. I'm going to bag up all the preggy pants and get them out of my closet. I am at the point now that I absolutely hate them.

Sorry to hear about your rib pain. Do hot pads or cold compresses against it do anything at all? Have you tried arnica cream over the affected area? Arnica is great for strains, sprains, and that sort of thing. It may help a bit.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I will try some!! I have been using ibuprophen and heat which is working, but I really want to get off the pain-killers!!

I hurt my ribs with both of my deliveries. It's annoying, isn't it? With DD, I was purple pushing against a cervical lip and actually felt the rib muscle 'pop' or something. It was really bad pain for a while. This time, my whole left side of my rib cage is sore but not as intense. I think it's from dealing with the afterpains while lying on my left side and dealing with the ambulance ride on my left side with the bumps of being moved on a stretcher. Ick.
