Scent sticks?

I've recently seen those sticks that you stick into a bottle of some scented oil or something like that. Anyone used these? Better yet, anyone made some of their own? I'd love to figure out how. Any ideas?

The ones that smell the best cost $27+ in the stores. Plus I'm worried that if I had them in the home it would be the first thing the kids play with. Some of them smell so strong, I have walked around stores that had one going and the whole store smelled like a giant gardenia, which would be to strong for the house. If you bought all the pieces seperately and made your own with shipping it seems to cost = to store bought?

Yes! I mean reed diffusers. Thanks for figuring that out. So, has anyone made their own oil/scent solution for diffusing? If so, how? I'm wondering about using EOs for it.....
