Exercise ideas?

Anybody have ideas? Anybody use pregnancy-specific exercise DVDs/videos -- I've seen low-impact aerobics for pregnancy, tai chi for pregnancy... I know they can be cheesy, but I need the variety to entertain myself. I can only take so many long walks...

I'd like to find a water-aerobics-for-pregnancy class for a few months from now, but the one I know of requires a pricey Y membership. Maybe I'll just spring for it.

All ideas and suggestions welcome! (esp. if you know of a fabulous DVD). Thanks, mamas.

I had a really good pilates for pregnancy book w/ #1. It gave trimester-specific exercises, and even some for post partum. I'm sure you could find something like that an DVD.

I'm taking daily walks and doing Gaiam's Prenatal Yoga DVD. It's pretty good, but I always have to laugh when they sit on the floor doing kegels

I am not in your DDC (at least not yet, keeping fingers crossed that I will be!!), but I have been doing a lot of pregnancy exercise DVDs while TTC and I have a few recommendations. I love "The Perfect Pregnacy Workout" and "Dr. Christine Anderson's Dynamic Prenatal Yoga" (got both on amazon).

I work out on our elliptical trainer 4x a week. It's really low impact and my midwfie said it is fine to continue it throughout the pregnancy at a low resistance.

I've also been looking for a good pilates during pregnancy book.

This is the book I had w/ dd. I wasn't very consistent w/ it. But I really enjoyed it when I actually did it.

My DH just bought me a treadmill (I've been asking for one for years!) which will be here Wednesday. I'll do some walking and light jogging on there through the winter, then resume my daily walks with my dd when the weather warms.

I also have a daily stretching ritual which I plan to keep up.

I don't plan on doing anything pregnancy specific though.

I've just started using Rocki's Prenatal Yoga DVD and I really like it.

I might buy another one or two to alternate with, but I think you could definitely get away with doing that one through your whole pregnancy

Plus once the weather gets nicer, walks and taking the kids to the park/beach will add to that too.

For now my plan is just to continue doing my FIRM DVDs until I can't. I did buy a heartrate monitor so that I make sure I stay under 140. We'll see how that goes though. I also have the Gaiam Prenatal Yoga one that I used through both of my other PGs so that'll be good for this one too. I am starting out in much better shape this time so hopefully that'll help me stick with exercising...

I have the Gaiam prenatal yoga, but I have yet to pop it in the dvd player. I've been meaning to start walking more, but it's been cold and flooding here. Now the weather is perfect (I can here birds chirping in January!) and we're planning on taking a long walk today. I also have a gym membership, but I haven't been since before Christmas.

I forgot to add... I also take an adult ballet class once a week. I wish the studio offered it more than once a week, I think that ballet is one of the best total body exercises. I was in the best shape in my life when I was a full time dancer (years and years and years ago).
