Ugh-dizzy

OK-I always thought that being dizzy in early pregnancy was kind of a myth, but I am really feeling it. I get head rushes when I stand up and feel quite unsteady. Is there anything I can do to help this (besides standng more slowly)? This really stinks.

I've had that too. I don't know if there is anything to prevent it. It is annoying, though.

I'll get dizzy (though I haven't since pregnant) when my blood sugar is low, or if I haven't been drinking enough water so my blood volume is low.

I have very annoying blood sugar issues, I even tested it when I worked at a group home and it was 32 one day, 37 the next day and normal is 76-125! So especially since a baby is depending on my blood I make sure to eat regularly, eat enough protein and fat (takes a long time to digest and stabliizes blood sugar) and don't have much caffeine, which lowers blood sugar.

If I don't drink enough water than my blood volume is really low, which causes low blood pressure, so when you sit and then stand there isn't enough blood to pump it up to your brain, which will cause dizziness. From what I understand, it's your body's last-ditch effort to try and get you to lay down so that the blood can get to your brain.

Oh, and I'll also do the same sort of thing if I'm really tired, but that's because of lack of sleep. My body is nit-picky and likes everythign to be right, I guess

Paige, I got dizzy with DD2 alot early on. I agree make sure you're snacking all day (healthy) and drinking plenty of water.

I know I'm getting enough water and I'm trying to snack. It's weird, I go between totally stuffed feeling to incredibly hungry in an instant. I snacked on a bowlful of black beans earlier-ugh not a good idea when you're also dealing with indigestion.

It happends to me too, I never did find the cause!! I was well hydrated, stood up slowly, ate regularly (almost constantly) and it didnt go away...well until she was born

I get it too, although I think mine may be related to my blood pressure medication. They just switched me to a safer one and it dropped my BP pretty low for a couple of days and I felt super dizzy and light headed a lot. Now my BP is pretty much normal but I still get a little dizzy when I'm boppin' around too much doing chores. I think it's a sign to stop doing chores, whaddya think??
