Membranes stripped!

Holy crap, my OB (who I love) stripped me without telling me first! He told me as he was doing it. Should I be pissed?
I've heard that if you're not ready it won't do anything anyway, so hopefully no harm done. It wasn't too painful.
Also found out my due date is today, not monday like we thought (whatever). Planning a vbac, so we're getting a little nervous. We'll do NST next week if necessary.

I think it would bother me if my OB did without asking me first. Even if it was something that I did want, I feel like I want to be involved in the decision-making or at the very least informed before anything is done. I've heard the same thing about not starting labor unless you're already on the brink, though, so I wouldn't be too worried.

I hope that you will be holding your little one soon and your vbac goes well!

I would not be happy about that. But in your circumstances, I would probably just let it go for the moment, because it is done and any angst you feel about it is just going to use up energy that you need to use in a positive way for your VBAC. Roll with it, have a great delivery, and then afterward broach the topic with your OB. Don't waste your energy now.

eta: oops, didn't mean to barge in on your due date club. I saw a link to this thread on the main forums page and it caught my attention. feel free to resume your regular club activities... I'll leave you alone now
