What's your super power?

Mine, apparently is sense of smell. My nose is in super-over drive. Every scent is amplified sooo much. When I'm running, I'm so aware of which houses are doing laundry b/c I smell the detergent/fabric softener. Ugh. I can't even walk down the cleaning/laundry aisles at the store b/c the scents are so overwhelming. The smells aren't necessarily making me ill feeling, there's just too much, kwim? It's like what used to be a nice pleasant whiff of perfume from someone walking by is not sticking my nose down in the bottle. : I didn't have this with either of my previous pregnancies. Will it stop or last the whole time?

The worst part is that today dd#2 (3y.o) had some strange unpleasant smell to her and I couldn't even hold her in my lap w/o gagging . I feel like a horrible mommy.

I had the same thing w/ dd. It's starting w/ this one, but not as strong yet.

The worst smell in the world w/ dd was raw meat cooking in real butter, which was most unfortunate because dh was doing Atkins at the time. I had to go upstairs in the bedroom on the opposite side of the house w/ the door closed, and even then I could still smell it. I finally made him give it up because I just couldn't stand it.

It didn't go away completely until dd was born, but it did lessen part way into the 2nd tri. I read about one woman, though, that had it all through her pg, to the point that she and her dh would walk restaurant row during dinner time, and she would stand outside each one and sniff as people went in and out until she found one that smelled right.

And don't feel bad about your dd. I've had that happen once or twice since we found out, too. Blame it on the hormones!

Yup mine's also smell...

Yesterday we had a playdate with friends at McDs with a huge playplace...they were doing the floors when I walked in the play area-I had to hold my hand over my mouth/nose to keep from gagging. The bathroom there was worse- and I smelled my friends DS's poop from 5 feet away...amazing! DD(6) had an accident and put her dirty underware in the laundry bin-unannounced-I was sorting yesterday and I gagged with that smell. I can't use my downstairs bathroom b/c DH needs to clean the litterbox and that stinks. Oh and another amazing feat...I had a POAS in my computer drawer (POAS aholic that I am ) well I was comparing that to a fresh one (to see if it was darker -wow this obsession is embarrasing ) anyway...I noticed that the old one was a bit ummmm shall we say ripe?

I must say that all these symptoms do put my mind more at ease...its comforting to me in a way.

Yup, smell for me too. Dh was up at 4 AM making coffee (he leaves for work at 5 AM) and the smell almost sent me running to the bathroom. I usually love the smell of brewing coffee. Then I smelled his shaving cream from behind the closed bathroom door and closed bedroom door!

Yo, feel free to come over and clean my place while you've got that energy burst!!

I'm already starting to get bad with the smells, too. Last time I couldn't even walk by the seafood department of the supermarket without wretching.

Me too! But then I get exhausted around 5 p.m....

Oh, and another thing is that I have the lovely ability to stay up ALL NIGHT LONG when I am SUPER TIRED...grrrrr! :

I wish mine was energy! So far I have none LOL.

I would also have to say my superpower is my nose. Yesterday I was on the other side of the house as DH and he was taking a shower. I could smell the shampoo like I was in the shower with him. I didn't know he was taking a shower either until I smelled the shampoo.

With my first surrogacy I was flying home from the IFV transfer and I could smell the beer and alcohol being served at the front of the plane (I was in the way back) before I even knew it was being served. I knew then I was pregnant LOL.

This was me last night! I'm hoping my brain will calm down since I just found out yesterday. But all last night I lay in bed wondering if I am crazy to have three kids, and two of them just two years apart?! And worried and worried about stuff I have basically no control over. I hope I get some sleep tonight!

My super power? Hmm, does being super-tired count??

Seriously, I SO wish I could take 1-2 naps every day lately!
But I've found that I have a very hard time getting to sleep if everything isn't totally quiet and dark

Hey-I'm having that completely exhausted but can't get a good night's sleep thing right now, too. I usually have trouble sleeping during a full moon, so I'm hoping it's just that and things will get back to normal quickly in the next few days.

The newspaper smells so bad to me, especially the Sunday paper. So inky. Ugh. And I was walking with some friends past a park being watered with "reclaimed" water -- know what that smells like, even to people who don't have Super-Preggo-Nose? I thought I was going to die right there on the street.
