1 year!

My nursling is 1 today! She's never had one drop of formula though, and bf is still going great.

Unfortunately, I'm already feeling the pressure to stop though. My step-dad has been asking me when I was going to stop for months. It's pretty easy to overlook his comments because honestly, he's not very educated at all. Now my mom has started in too. Earlier this week she informed me that she had been talking to her sister, and my cousin was a "late weaner" too. : Late? Umm, okay. Obviously everything I've said about the AAP and WHO stance on bf has not been retained. If 1 is late, I wonder what they'll say if Lauren's still nursing at 3 or 4 or older.

Congrats on your first year of nursing, what a milestone it is! Good for you not letting your family pressure you with their comments.

and, Happy Birthday to your dd!!

Congrats!

DS will be a year in only a week. I was looking at him the other day and thinking, "Why on earth do people wean at a year? He's just a BABY!" He's been walking for some time now, and he's huge for his age, but he really is so young still.

DH feels the same way about putting him in a separate bed ("He's just a BABY!").

It is so easy to continue nursing (despite anti-ebf commnts) when you are educated about it. You may not be able to make your family understand, but at least you know what's best for your babe.

Two more weeks till mine's one. :

I can't even imagine how people wean at this age. It's still the number one food, comfort, and amusement item for her.
