Hi, I am in the UK, but am American. I would suggest John Gatto (a school teacher and educator who advocates home education and denounces the school system), the research of Paula Rothermel ( http://www.derbyhe.co.uk/info/uni_report.htm
) which while a study of home education in results in british children, it should be noted we use the same methods and materials home schoolers use here are usually imported from the USA so still relevant, this article from Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeschooling
), and information from the HSLDA http://www.hslda.org/docs/study/comp2001/default.asp
The Wiki is especially useful as it provides footnoted links to the information in teh article, so you can print that out, and follow the links to more ammo
You could also look up stats on bullying and child abuse in schools and by teachers...yes, it happens. My own child was badly bullied by a teacher last year and it led to he removal from school. I had not wanted to send her anyway, but that is another story! But she is not alone.http://www.hdtl.org/ssosafca.shtml
shows many issues. And a look on mailing lists for home educatord/schoolers will see many more stories brought to light. Sadly.
