sexual health books for boys?

ds is 9 1/2. We have always talked openly with hime about bodies, health, sexuality. We have read (and leave accessible) Meg Hickling's books. dh talks with ds a bit, but I think I have done more talking about body and feeling changes that will happen. Still, I know that there may be times when he won't want to talk to me or even dh and I want to have good information available to him.

Any book recommendations?

There is a great book, I buy it for all my 12 year olds. It is produced by the same group as "our bodies, ourselves."

It is not boy specific, but deals with boys, girls. It has everything from puberty to gangs to abusive parents to finding help for yourself and sexuality. Basically a "our bodies" for teens.

I love this book, and literally give it to every child I know on their 12th birthday.

"Changing bodies, changing lives" and I think the best place to get is Amazon as it is now out of print. :

There's also the What's Happening to my Body book for boys.

we have been looking for positive media for boys also. There is plenty for girls but can not find anything directed at boys only. I just want ds to know that he does not have to give into peer pressure and understand that he will respect himself better when he does what is right more than what the other guys did. We use some of the American Girl books for dd but can not find anything that gets that in-depth for the boy.
As far as your son not talking to you he may not be experiancing as much as you tink he might be. Sometimes they don't notice as much or they use what you have taught them and work it out for themselves

When I bought my DD some books, I got her The Period Book and bought DS the 'brother' book to it, What's Going on Down There? by Karen Gravelle.

I just bought "My Body, My Self For Boys" by Lynda and Area Madaras today. I plan to tell ds that is on the shelf if he is interested and if he wants to talk about we can. I think he still a little way off but kids seems to know a lot more than I did at 8/9/10. It looks good to me, I liked the FAQ, diagrams and emphasis on the principal that "normal" looks and feels different on every body - but I am a 30yo mom not a 10yo boy.
