I found my cleaning recipes!

I thought I'd share, these work really well for me. I get headaches if I use regular cleaners, and they scare me anyways, but I like these and they seem very effective.

All-purpose cleaner:

1 T. borax (in the laundry isle, in a box)
2 T. vinegar
16 oz warm water
10 drops tea tree oil
1/4 c liquid soap- like hand soap or dish soap, doesn't really matter what kind.

you can also add other essential oils (I like lemon oil) for scent.

Baking soda "soft scrub" cleaner:
1/2 C. liquid soap
1 1/2 c baking soda
1/4 c. water
2 T vinegar
10 drops Tea tree oil

In a bowl, mix soap, baking soda, and water. Get out the lumps; use a fork or pastry cutter if need be. last mix in the vinegar and TTO. If you're not using it right away store in an airtight container. To use it, dip a sponge in and scrub! *If you have leftovers, it will harden. But just add a little more water and it should mix back up.

Glass cleaner: *almost as good as windex

1 T. ammonia
1/2 tsp. dish soap
1/4 c rubbing alcohol
2 cups distilled water

Put it in a spray bottle.

Floor cleaner:

50/50 water and vinegar
add a few drops of your favorite essential oils and your house won't smell like a pickle you can use this in a bucket or a spray bottle. works well on wood, also.

Hope these are helpful for somebody!

Thanks!!
I have been wanting to switch to less harsh cleaning agents--DS is very enthusiastic about cleaning and so far, he just uses a spray bottle with water and vinegar (and our house DOES smell like a pickle )

Thanks for sharing your recipes!

I'm going to mix up some of that all-purpose cleaner. I have everything on hand.

I use vinegar and water for my hardwood floors. This is the only thing I've been told I could use.

Anyone use Almond EO? I love the way Method wood cleaners smell, but I don't know if the EO will offer the same scent.

what could you use for wood floors? I love murphy's oil soap. I've been using method stuff and diluting it. Oh, I love lavendar oil and lemon too! I use both to scent the trash bins. lemon is nice w/ your dish soap...sorry off topic a bit!

When we did our walk through and home orientation, our home builder told us to use nothing but water and vinegar. Other things can create films on the surface. I love the way the Method cleaners smell, but I'm afraid to use them on the floors.

Right now I use Vinegar/Water with Lemon EO.
