Ground beef, green pepper, onion - Page 2

Okay, already! Heathenmom, I'll tell you what I did. I mixed in a couple cans of refried beans, a can of diced tomatoes, some garlic powder and chili powder. Then I served it with homemade flour tortillas, shredded cheese, salsa, and sour cream. I really wanted to do the sloppy joes, but I am the only one in the fam who likes them. The vinegar bite turns them off, but that is the part I like the best.

Thank you ladies for all your suggestions; I will keep them in mind for the next time!

You could do stuffed peppers.

Keep the green peppers whole but cut ahole in the top and rinse with cold salt water.

Brown hamburger and mix in a little rice to make the hamburger go farther. Add a little onion.

Stuff the rice/hamburger mixture into each green pepper.

Put all the pepper standing up and stuffed into a dish and pour over tomatoe sauce and bake until bubbly.

What fun this is and I am getting hungry!!

Ground beef, its whats for dinner.

OK- this could be fun but make a huge batch and use for many uses!!

We always use whatever is left of a recipe (like a cup or so) and use the next day on a huge plate of nachos for lunch/snack-depending on the portion size.

Add some Zesty spices and taco mix which can be used for tacos, a nacho dip, enchiladas, chili (add beans)

-add some tomato and have the standby meat sauce

-add breadcrumbs and an egg and have meatballs or meatloaf

We have done the same with chicken but not ground but sliced up and cooked w same ingredients. We do all kinds of things.

Add some rice and tomato sauce and voila you have stuffed peppers.

FYI, try par boiling the peppers before you bake them with the ground meat, onlions, sauce and rice in them.

Happy eating!

In our family money is never an issue- there is none!!

Just kidding. Actually we just like to live within our means and in the black so this is why we eat like this....

I would add a bunch of boiled cabbage, some diced tomatoes (canned or fresh) and some water to it and make a Cabbage Goullosh. Season to taste.
