Good news!!!

Background: We tried to have my dd for 2+ years. I went through numerous treatments, tests and meds to get pregnant.

Now I am on med for PPD and we want to try again. I talked to my OB/gyn yesterday and she said that celexa is OK for pregnancy! She would advise me to go off during the first trimester and maybe the second if I could mentally handle it, but she has not issues with this being used during pregnancy. She was telling me about a registry of women on SSRI during pregnancy and no cases of mental retardation or developmental problems have occured since that was started in 1985. I feel better now.

Hopefully, I can start TTC again in August! Dh and I want some time for me to be me and just enjoy ourselves as a little family for a while!

AWESOME!!

I was on paxil all the way through pg with Mia and she's just fine, imho!! Her first few months were a little dicey, but I think that was just the babe's personality, not the drugs. Does this mean you'll be abandoning us to join the ttc board?? (Just kidding! )

If you are concerned about the meds during pregnancy, Zoloft is the safest. You could go on Zoloft for the first trimester and switch later if you needed to.

Just something to think about.

BTW, that is probably about the time we will be ttc also (our third.) Keep in touch as we will be going through the same thing at the same time.

I took Zoloft 100mg durning my pregnancy with Abigail and she is just great. My sOB wanted me off-I switched to a midwife who had no problem with me being on it. I nursed Abigail and took it. I am still taking it-I have had depression pretty much all my life. So I am very much a supporter of Zoloft-it has literally saved my sanity.
