Okay, a little background here. I have an online friend who is about 26 weeks pg with a boy. She is planning a UC, but she does have an OB backup for appts, u/s's, etc, and she mentioned a few weeks ago about calling her doc to ask about doing newborn testing...and a circ
after the baby's birth. I jumped on the chance to educate her against circ, especially since she's going to be such a crunchy mama (UC, AP, CD, homeschool, etc). I was actually surprised that someone like her would want to circ. So I sent her to the Mothering articles, nocirc.org, etc. She replied and said that she'd heard so much info either way, but that her husband would probably want the baby circ'ed "to look like him."
Well, they went to an appt with her OB, and my friend asked the doc about it at her appt. Amazingly the OB is anti-circ!!!!! She told them there's no medical reason, it doesn't lesson infections...well, you guys know all this.
Basically, she told them there's no reason that they should do it, it's completely unnecessary.
So the DH is coming around. But as one last grab for his side, he wanted her to find out if there's any statistics, testimonials, what have you, for men who were left intact, got circ'ed later in life, and then regret it and wish they were still intact. (Basically, he thinks that anyone who was left intact and then got circ'ed would prefer it that way. Never mind that he doesn't know that his own son would prefer that... but I digress.) So my friend asked me if I could find a website with such stories for her, and my first thought was to come here and ask all you guys. Our research basically stopped at the "unnecessary surgery" and "human rights issue" point, so I admit that I haven't read as much as a lot of the wonderful folks in this forum.
So does anyone have a website that would have such stories? Men who got circ'ed later in life and wish they hadn't? Because apparently only that is going to convince her DH that a foreskin is worth having. Any links you could show me would be much appreciated, and hopefully they save this little boy's foreskin!!!!!
