My ds, yet to be named, has been born!
His vitals:
born January 17th
at home
7:18pm
10 pounds 5 oz
22 inches long
14 inch head
14.5 inch chest
apgars of 9 then 10
I had about 10 hours of "easy" labor and didn't realize I was so far along (my labor with dd was 52 hours and so different than this one). I thought labor had stopped (I was in transition) then my water broke and one hour later he was out in the world! My midwives were only there for the last 45 minutes, and they're pretty sure that if he'd been smaller he would have arrived before they did. My midwives were amazed at his size, but I wasn't surprised at all as I've known he was going to be a big guy for a while now.
The whole day was just my dh and dd and me hanging out and getting ready for the baby. My 5yo dd was amazing-totally unfazed by labor, even my screaming that last hour. She was really helpful with the midwives, then when his head started showing, she took up post two feet away and watched until he came out. She has been so loving and protective of him this week-I am thrilled so far by their relationship.
Now we only have to name him...
