NAET is some kinda freaky alternative!

Two NAET visits under our belt, and I'm a bit psyched, freaked, skeptical, excited, and very very hopeful...

It is so WEIRD!
My dh thinks that the doc is pushing different ways to make the arm go down and not go down... We tried it out on each other...

Does it really work? or am I convincing myself that already after BBF and Egg Mix I am seeing results in my son - affable behavior, for one; wacky sleep; eating things I didn't expect him to...

A few complaints (should I switch practitioners?) - first of all, I didn't read "Say Good-bye to Illness" before starting my son's treatment, but ...

1. the location is in what I think might be a kinda sweatshop building near the garment district; weird vibe

2. the waiting room is not entirely clean

3. other people not related to the doc but working there (he is renting space I guess) had food delivered and ate it next to the waiting room

4. another patient was talking on the cell phone

5. it just feels a little bit sketchy; if the setting were more, say, glamorous, it might make a difference bc the doc seems cool

again (i have posted about naet before), i have to say that ds and i have seen awesome results with naet. we saw immediate improvement in the amount of itching and redness on his arms and legs after one or two treatments and then had a set back or two and then saw improvements again...it is not an overnight cure-all...but with time and patience it has made a HUGE difference in our lives. i have heard that the practitioner makes all the difference in the world...i absolutely love the one we found. our dr muscle tests using my hand not the arm, and i, too, am still fascinated with how it works (and we have been going for treatments for 3 months now and it continues to amaze me). but kinesiology is a proven science...just not one that is used in every day life.

i'm not sure what to say about the location/office issue. i am a vibe person and when something doesn't feel right i usually walk the other way. i will say that our dr's office is anything but glamorous and i know that this enables her to keep her charges down...but it is clean and welcoming...as is her staff. good luck...i hope you continue to see positive results!!
peace

you know, my ds seems happy to go there - I don't have to wrestle with him to get him to see the NAET doc as I do the chiro... like today, when I told him we are going to NAET tomorrow, he smiled. So, if it works for him, I shouldn't fuss. I think the price is a little lower bc of the no frills environment there.

But, if I do NAET for myself, I might check out a different place that feels better for me.

I do think NAET is starting to work... I hope it's not just wishful thinking so far, or coincidence (he's only had two treatments; the third is tomorrow).

Dunno where you live, but there are usually more NAET practitioners around to choose from, if you seriously don't want to go to that locale. Neat that your dc likes it.

Yeah, it's different from mainstream. I know people who've gotten great results, sometimes quickly, sometimes over a longer haul.

I first heard/read of NAET in Christiane Northrup MD's book, Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom, a wonderful resource.

We've been doing NAET for almost a year now, and I still think it's kinda freaky, but it works!

i took my son for his first visit over the holidays. my dh took him and he was weirded out. did not want to do it again , on the other hand i saw immediate results in my son, his attitude and temperant was 100x better. but it was so expensive. 60$ a visit . 100 for the 1st visit. he started going there for constant runny stools but not quite diarrhea, he felt better with good stools in 2 days. lasted about 3 weeks and started getting runny stools again i need to take him back for a second appt but have not because of money. his temperament is back to whiny and crabby. I am going to take him this week but have not read the book and have not been keeping comstant diaries of what he eats everyday.
i am glad to see others have tried it.

I brought my son to a Naturopath who practices NAET and she was able to identify a lot of foods that isn't suitable for him. We didn't tell her anything about those foods and we suspected a lot of what she identified. It was spooky. My DH didn't want to bring him at first, but we found out it was covered by insurance and thought what the hey. We are sure glad we did though. We will definitely go again and see what happens. There is a lot of flakes out there that says they practice it, so you definitely need to find someone good.

how did you get insurance to cover it?
I'm told it is impossible to get coverage for it.

creative billing sometimes happens. for instance, a chiropractor or massage therapist does naet and they bill the work as chiropractic or massage therapy or something that's covered. depending on the insurance.
