I'm not sure. My little guy arrived peacefully in the water just 8 days ago. While sitting on the birth stool awaiting the placenta's arrival, my midwife looked for tears. She saw none. WHen the placenta arrived, she looked again, just to be sure, saw nothing. She didn't "dig around" or anything though, she just kind of looked. I didn't tear the last two times, this one was a waterbirth so I figured I had even less chance of tearing. This baby did have the biggest head though (14.5"!!) So tonight I"m in the tub and I get the urge to feel around. I feel a "something". It's on my perineum and it feels like some kind of raised wide line. I get out, get a mirror and flashlight and find this moon-shaped "something". I've never torn, I had skid marks with one baby, it looks similar. Its obviously something, open skin looking. It doesn't burn (any more than anything else) when I pee or wipe. I just had a stomache flu, complete with diarhea (sorry for TMI) and don't know if its related to that or if its some tear. IF its a tear, its small. It's not noticable if you don't spread the skin apart which is why my MW wouldn't have seen it. She's coming tomorrow to check on the baby, should I ask her about it? I Mean, it's been 8 days and there's nothing to do about it now, right? (wow, I can't beleive it's been 8 days already!!)
