Flooded basement. Dryer among casualties.

Is there any hope it might dry out and work again?? Right now it just makes a sad humming sound when we turn it on.
Going out and buying a new dryer is not going to help our snowballing debt situation.
Any suggestions?

Ask on your local freecycle! Can you take it apart and see if everything looks ok?

Let it dry out completely. I got a flooded dryer for free and repaired it when I was six months pregnant! I followed the directions in a Reader's Digest How to fix evcerything in your house type manual. I have never read Reader's Digest, but their fixit books rock! I replaced 2 thermostats and something else I can't remember. It was easy to see how high the water line was when you opened up the back of the dryer, and then troubleshoot under the line. It took patience and time, and having to buy a couple tools- but 40 bucks all told.
