Does any one know anything about this program for public/private schools?

I know that the concept is in use in Chattanooga, TN, Oakland, CA, and North Carolina.

I think you mean Paideia. Which, to me, seems way too close to Paidika, but probably (hopefully) the two have nothing to do with each other...

I use to live in Chattanooga. I waited in line for 52hrs to get my dd into the school. The applications are done as first come, with exceptions for siblings. It's a great program and turns out wonderful kids. My bestfriend was also a teacher, and thus was able to alert me to the demand for placement.
To my utter disappointment, Dh found a wonderful job in another state, so dd never attended and her current school can't compare.
