Itchy skin no rash or eczema

What does an allergic reaction to animals look like? My daughter has the rubbing nose thing when she does violin practice both at home (no animals) and at her violin studio (2 cats, occ. a dog), but she does that at other times too. Recently at her violin lesson, she has started getting excruciatingly itchy, where her tummy and back (and bum sometimes) are hugely itchy. When I have looked, there is no rash.

It is also wintertime, and I personally have to apply a thick hypoallergenic cream every day to avoid itchy skin, and all my kids have dry skin, but she says she only feels itchy when she is playing violin, and mostly at the studio.

I am sure you have already thought of any products that are used on the violin? I get itchy when I am stressed out?

I would definitely look into animal allergies. Dander can settle in the violin case/on the violin. Does this happen in any other setting when she's around animals?
