Hi. I used to frequent these boards many moons ago when my kids were younger. I always read the mothering magazine before the boards. We had two great kids and wanted more, only to find out we couldnt. We tried fertility meds and such to no avail. Finally we said, ok, we'll work on saving money to adopt a baby. Well, we dont make much money, so its been a slow go of it. We have had many changes in our circumstances in the past few years, none helping us get ahead but changes all the same. So recently I found myself unemployed (I have worked p/t off and on for most of our marrriage) and loving being home full time (I always want to be home full time but usually our financial circumstances have not allowed for it). My boys have grown now and are not little any longer. A week ago I realized my period had not arrived on schedule, and I am fairly regular. I thought...hm....wonder if I have had any stress or something that might make it late? Thought about it some...then on a whim thought about taking a preg test. and YES I am PREGNANT!!!!
My dh was home at the time and I told him I had this preg test and I was just going to take it "for fun". when it INSTANTLY went positive about I about died. I started yelling out the door to him NO WAY NO WAY and came running and he started yelling NO WAY NO WAY. so then of course I thought, this preg test is probably too old, checked the date and it was still good. but still sent dh out for another test. store is like 2 min. from our house so I did another one right when he got back and it was also positive. we were in such total shock. we had totally given up on the idea that I could have another baby. this past week has been a blur as I walk around in a daze. my other two children are over the moon! it really is a miracle and such a blessing.
on the other hand, bcz of all the infertility things we went through for 8 years I am doubting and worrying and scared to death that I am going to lose it. I know its still early on and I just want the next 8 weeks to fly by. I just want to know its healthy and going to stay!
anyway, this is the LONG of it.
but I wanted to post and say, hey, I'm due in October too!
