I've been taking Benadryl, and up until this afternoon it would clear up for a few hours, then get itchy again. I'd take more and the cycle would continue. Now, going on the second day, Benadryl doesn't seem to be working anymore. The patches are getting worse. I'm about head to toe in hives.
I *think* it's shellfish, but I'm not sure. Ate some shrimp Thursday dinner. I had a reaction Thursday at about 2am. Took Benadryl for it and everything cleared up until Sunday.
Sunday afternoon, I got a craving for kimbop, the Korean version of a California roll. So I made some. I made a ton. No fish in it, just veggies (cucumber, spinach, avocado). But a few hours later I was itching again. Benadryl worked for about 18 hours. Now it seems to have quit working.
What would you do? I'm now working on a water fast, just to try to flush my system. I'm afraid that I'm missing something, though, and am still in the presence of the irritant. Anyone have any ideas? Since the benadryl doesn't seem to work anymore, what can I do? Anyone know how long it takes to get past a shellfish reaction?
