ring around the rosy anus!

I am playing allegery detective for my poor little dd who is really allergic to something in my diet/milk.

She just got the red ring around the butt plus a bit more blood in her diaper. I have begun a modified version of the elimnation diet but i gues I need to go hard core now...

Anyway, does anyone from past experience know how long it takes the offending food to leave the red ring around the anus? hours? days? I am trying to guess how far back I should go in my food diary.

Any help...

Thanks!

People with digestive illnesses (I have Crohn's Disease) call the redness and associated irritation as having "taco butt." Like what you have after eating some really greasy tacos...

Do you know how long it takes for your daughter to digest her food? Sometimes I react to dairy in 15-20 minutes. Sometimes it may be the next day that I might react to a food. Dairy is the fastest. Unfortunately, it seems that the things we're the most sensitive too come out the fastest! My son was sensitive to sweet potatoes as a baby and they went right through him! Acidic foods also contribute to the red ring.

Sounds like what DD used to get if I drank orange juice or lemonade, or ate too much acidic foods like tomatoes. Mostly it was the citrus.

It's been too long for me to remember how long it took to clear after I figured out that citrus was the problem. sorry.

yeast can also cause the red ring... did your kiddo have a lot of thrush?

if you can't figure out a food maybe try eliminating all sugar and go easy on fruit for a week to see if that helps

I've also heard that citrus can cause this symptom.
