DS just found his thumb!

He's been chewing on his fist for a week or so now, and he was doing it now when suddenly just the thumb went in there... he started sucking like mad! I know folks have differing opinions on the thumb sucking issue, but honestly I'm a little relieved. He has a very high suck need - this may be a good thing (assuming he can figure it out again!).

congrats for him! Ethan can sometimes find his thumb, but for the most part cant b/c he only does it open-handed (as in, his fingers cover his face and his thumb is in his mouth). its kind of cute, but i want him to find it b/c he also has a high suck need and sometimes i feel like a human paci! not that that is such a bad thing all together, but hey....a mom should have a break every once in a while, right???

There are many times I wish Teagan would take her thumb! She will suck every now and then but usually wants her Mama. Actually DH has gotten her to take a pacifier a couple of times now in the evening. Normally I would be completely against this but she is so fussy in the evenings and has a very high need to suck, and since I'm going back to work in the evenings and won't be here, I don't think it is a bad thing.

yay! both rowan and have have very long fingers/thumbs so their thumbs gag them when they try. LOL
