nursing while pregnant? I am having such a hard time finding other Mom's who are.

Thus far we are... only once a day, but I think it counts. May not be what you're looking for, though. And I only just found out I'm preggie. I think, though, that we'll go all the way (DD LOVES boobie), but I'm definitely not for sure on that. Who knows if the milk will hold out at all?

Yup! Planning to tandem nurse. I just got "Adventures in Tandem Nursing" a few days ago. (I think I bought it from Amazon) Interesting so far!

Thank you so much. I am glad that I am not the only one. Well I knew I wasn't the only one, but you know what I mean.

I am nursing my 21 month old quite a bit still. I hope to tandem nurse. I tandem nursed ds#1 and ds#2 for 14 months. I really enjoyed it. The adventures in tandem nursing is a great book i haven't read it for 1 1/2 yrs so i will probably read it again.

We're still at it 3-4 times a day at 19 months. I definitely want to go to two years but not thinking I want to tandem nurse. So I'm just hoping she'll naturally wean and I won't have to make any tough decisions...

i'm not, (my son weaned himself when he was 2), but a few of my friends are and they are all gritting their teeth and dealing. my one friend who's dd weaned while she was pregnant has been fighting off her dd now that the baby is here and well, her poor daughter is just not coping well. she has started letting her nurse when the baby isn't, but it's still a problem.

but, yes i know a few pregnant nursing mamas.

Hiya!

I just found out I am pregnant and I am currently tandem nursing my 3yo and 19mo! I am not new to the nursing while pregnant thing My milk all but dried up with my last pregnancy but that didn't stop DS from nursing all the time. LOL He was in heaven when my milk came back in!

Hi there,

I am not currently but have previously nursed partially through pregnancy. I weaned the baby though because I didn't want to nurse in pregnancy or tandem. My suggestion would be to keep up your fluids and eat very nutrious foods.

I'm nursing my 30 mo 3 ish times a day and 5 weeks pregnant. Not sure if we'll go all the way through, but going to try. I would love to try and tandem nurse them both.

Yup, nursing my 30 month old. She's really cut down over the last year... so if she's still nursing at the time of birth, I'm tandeming.

We're still nursing too, but I'm not really encouraging it too much. I don't feel very committed about tandem. Mara (my daughter) will be almost three when the new baby comes to live with us, and I feel like the milk should be for the new baby.

My 2.5 year old is still nursing. While I think I'd prefer he just go ahead and wean during pregnancy, I don't see myself forcing the issue, either

He does seem less interested in extended nursing sessions over the past week or so - I'm wondering whether there has been a change in flavor or supply.

My youngest is only 9 mos old, so I am, of course, still nursing. I have nursed through 2 previous pregnancies as well.

My DD is 16 months and she nurses 5-6 times or more a day. I have not experienced any discomfort and I do plan on tandem nursing, unless we have twins. My only concern is a supply issue and I don't know if you can take fenugreek and blessed thistle while preggo.

i'm still nursing my 16 month old, though she's been acting kind of funny about it the past few days. several times she has wanted to nurse, pulled up my shirt and then when i take my boob out, she shakes her head says "no" and pulls my shirt back down. weird!

so far no pain, so that is good.

i'm not planning on weaning her anytime soon and i don't think i would mind tandem nursing when the new babe comes.

I am. DS turned two last month. He nurses 3-4 times a day and I'm really trying to cut back on that and really hope to wean within 3-4 months. I do NOT want to tandem nurse, and I don't want him to get interested again when the baby gets here. Eeek! I have a hard time keeping weight on just nursing one as it is.

I recommend Adventures in Tandem Nursing by Hilary Flower, it talks a lot about nursing while pg.

So far no pain, but major touched-outedness is occuring.

He loves his 'na-na' though. So I'm trying to be gentle and understanding about the whole thing.

Yup, we are still nursing here as well. DD just turned 2 and has NO plans to give up her boobies, lol!
