Greetings! I don't have twins but I wanted to say 'hi'.

When were your twins born? How are they now?

Our twins weren't that preemie (34w6d), but spent 15 days in the NICU. They're now 4, and doing great.

If your two are still in the NICU, my biggest piece of advice is to get yourself an advocate to help navigate the strong emotions following birth AND the incredibly difficult time in the NICU. By about day 10 I was absolutely SICK of the NICU, and feeling very alone.

Congratulations on the birth of your babies!

I have preemie twins...they were born at 27 weeks, at 2 lbs 3 oz and 2 lbs 5 oz. They will be coming home very soon, but have been in the NICU since 11/19/05.

Our girls won't arrive later than 34W and could possibly be earlier than that. We expect a stint in the NICU for at least some amount of time. I've tried to look at NICU images and we've planned a visit to tour the NICU. I've tried to read lots of positive stories, and we're keeping the faith.

It's awesome to hear after 125 days that they got to come home, and they are now 2! Those are the stories I love to read!

I am the preeemie Queen for one reason or another no two reasons being the same I have given birth to 7 preemies! My first twins we lost at 20 wks thx to placenta previa and an abruption. My second set of twins made it to 29 weeks (hospital stay of 66 days and no real long term issues)but i was working two jobs and going to night school so I just wasn't taking care of myself or listening to my bedrest as I should have. My son Edan was 35 wks 7 lbs 5 oz I actualy tried to make him come eraly I was so huge and it was august he stayed in SCN(special care nursery what we clal our NICU up here) for only 2 days and a bit. My next child was 23 wks and 4 days he was a suprise delivery I had Coriamnioitis I asked that he not be sent to SCN because he had no time on DEX to help him develop, he never came home. My next child was 24 wks 6 days just shy of 25 wks I had desending membranes and a cervical stitch didn't help. My water broke two days before she was born and being GBS + made her need to come out very high. She came home from hospital on her 100th day of life. She is two now and has issues with her eyes she had level three+ ROP and had to have laser surgery but her visions is still getting worse even with no disease left. Wanna talk preemies??

My twins were born at 34 weeks, and they spent almost 2 weeks in the SCN. They are now happy healthy and chubby 15 month olds!

Mine were 35w2d, with only a couple of hours in the NICU. They went home with me at just over four pounds and four days old. I was so lucky!

Rivka, are you on the APMultiples Yahoo group? I'm trying to decide if that's why I recognize you...

my twins were 34 weeks to the day. They would have only spent a few days extra in the SCN but they both got blood infections. (Not from me BTW) Spinal taps and all, they are healthy chubby 11 weekers. They spent 2 weeks in the SCN to receive antibiotics. was very scary but they are doing great.
