DS is 2-1/2 and one persistent issue is his grabbing other's toys at school where he goes a few hours/day (DH is there with him as a co-opt type arrangement). Or someone will be building blocks and DS will knock them over. He does it almost as a "joke" and then runs away. It really increased due to Swiper on Dora the Explorer. (Before it was more of a toddler grab because he wants.) Now, he would say, I am Swiper. Now over a month later, even with no more Dora, it continues. He tries to do it really fast before we can see or catch him. There is not anger or anything involved. We and the teacher says we don't take from others, etc. and return it or ask if you can borrow it. Still, it continues. Maybe he will outgrow it? Any suggestions? I think this has been the one issue that seems to go on and on and we are ALWAYS saying, we don't take from others, etc. etc.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

He will outgrow it. But he also needs guidance and supervision. I recall when DD knocked down a rather large tower a child had built from softblocks at our local Science World. The child yelled "NO" in DD's face and freaked her out. I explained to her that while it was not okay for him to yell, that I knew he had scared her, he had spent a lot of time building that tower and was really upset when she knocked it over. From then on I was aware of the situation and prevented it. Prevention is key here. Also, show them what they CAN do. Show him how to ask for a toy, or explain that we take turns and so-and-so isn't done yet but when he is...blah blah blah. Socializing and playing with others is a skill and he needs your help with that.
