Dude, I was just fixin' to post.

Sherri, your dh gets 2 gold stars--for listening *and* acting on it. Yeah, I have the cysts again, yeah, they hurt, but not as bad as last time. I have an u/s in a week to check the # and sizes. I kind of figure that once I'm done having kids, I won't have to deal with them anymore.

I really want to see a pic of Heather's baby (and of course, I'm super curious about the name! maybe we can steal it! ). I figure we hounded her while she was pg, we still need to hound her now that she's not. Oh Heather...

Renae, I'm so glad the V went well. I was a little nervous till I heard, I'll admit. Probably the most effective BC we could find would be having my mil live with us.

How's Luke, Beth? I must admit, I'm no big fan of barfing (them *or* me). I hope it was just a little 24 hr thing. I was going to tell you, too--he looks really *different* in his pix. Wow.

Z continues to eat a ton. He ate over a cup of homemade split pea soup for lunch, which made me feel like the best cook in the world. I'm going to make him some bacon this afternoon (shh... don't tell the vegan nuns... but it *is* organic bacon from pigs who found Nirvana before slaughter). And I save the excess fat to put out for the birdies, who probably really need it right now...

I'm going to see a different PT... I feel more hopeful this time--it's someone who has worked on my dr. (and *he* can walk now, so it ought to work for me, no?), so the referral is good. His PA spelled his tenative diagnosis for me and gave me more info, and unfortunately, not getting any exercise probably *has* been helpful. I'm climbing the walls, though... I need exercise to feel all right in the head, if you know what I mean...

Speaking of all right in the head... the therapist wants me to take a trip before I have the baby (to get some time for myself), and I'm considering a trip to PDX to see my best friend...

It is so friggin' cold here (~6F, windchill is definitely below 0), and we're housebound. We only have 1 car (our family's contribution to the planet), and dh usually rides his bike the 1 1/2 miles to work. But the roads are icy, it's been blowing snow, and it seemed way more sensible to make him drive to work than for me to bundle up the kids and try to go somewhere. So I'm trying to catch up on my to do list... But I think I'd better break out the playdough, make some muffins, etc., or the kids will go nuts.

sickie boy here... cold and drippy nose and had a fever 2 days ago and then started coughing this morning... and still feeling blech about food in general. started taking wild yam tincture yesterday and i think it's helping. the only thing that tastes appealing is crazy seed bread with melted cheddar on top and sometimes chocolate. and after seeing a popcorn segment they did on the view television show this morning, i have a hankering for some moose munch or chocolate dipped popcorn balls... where am i going to find that in the middle of the day with a napping boy down the hall?

thinking of heather and the new baby feather girl and their whole family...

and brrr... it's frEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH-zing and crazy windy here!!!!!!!!!! i thought we were inching towards spring, but now it looks like we're having a second winter! sheesh!

Heather- checked out the YG. Sweet, sweet, sweet.

Renae- Wow. I am so impressed that Rowan knows A and B. Genious. Gotta be. I'm just happy that Luke finally put a consonant on the end of a word (he can now say uP.) You and DH have fun sneakin around this weekend. Tee hee.

Sherri- the woman on baby patrol- was sloshed. (insert shreek of laughter here).

KK- if you do come to PDX, what are the chances you could spare an hour or two for the May mamas? I know I'd love to meet you in person.

Hooray for good eatin on the part of Z. Luke is all better now. Sick for two days, but thank goodness for the tube. We put it back in last night and he's already re-porking up.

Warning: those who are feeling queezy should skip the next paragraph.

OH my was Thursday hard, though. DH and I caught the pukies Wednesday night. Thursday I couldn't look at food without puking. Luke of course was better and wanted food and I just COULDN'T feed him (just having him say "foo? foo? made me run for the bowl). If it wasn't for DH, who was feeling slightly better by that time, Luke would have starved. I thought alot about you KK, and had new sympathy for all the nautia you've been dealing with this pregnancy. I seriously don't know how you've done it. I got 12 hours of sleep last night and woke up this morning like a new woman, completely recovered, thank goodness.

Claudia- sorry you're lil one has a cold. I just hate that. Glad he's doing better. And yah, what is UP with this FREEZING wind? I thought we lived in Portland!
aww, fiddle, it sure sucks to be so sick. I'm glad you made it through! And I'm glad Luke's porkin' up with the tube again.
fiddly-bummer about being sick! glad youguys are getting better. Haaate trying to care for toddler while sick (either of us).
Dude, there is something going around P-town, for sure. MIL and DH got sick Friday morning, the same pukiness. I've been queasy all weekend but no actual barfing. LUCKILY Lily hasn't felt bad. Hugs to you, Fiddle.

Seems that the yuck bug is ALL around these days. Mia had a throat virus about 10 days ago and then DH got it, and now I've been battling it for a couple of days. I am finally feeling better today, and I"m glad I wasn't more debilitated from it. Being 33 weeks pg and all ( ), it's not like I need any help in the debilitating dept.

Speaking of being pg, things are going really, really well on that front. Baby is head down and has been for weeks and weeks. Lots of movement, strong heartbeat, anterior placenta (NO PREVIA which might have been a convern due to my previoous c/s and the fact that I had some spotting in the early weeks), conservative weight gain (not that I've tried for this, but I think my metabolism has *really* changed since giving birth and nursing), no swelling. Overall, I feel really good. Feeling more and more fatigued as the weeks go by, but that's normal. Oh, I had some low iron levels, but started taking a supplement a week or so ago and it's helped a TON. So yeah... no issues and it looks like we are good to go for our homebirth! Although, I must say, I love our midwife so much! At one point she thought baby boy might be breech and she was completely non-alarmist about it, and said, "oh, well, we can work on turning him around, but you can still easily have him at home. I've delivered lots of breech babies... it's no big deal." She's so great and I'm so happy to have found her. Her attitude really helps me instill confidence in myself. I am amazed at how healing this experience has been. She just views so many circumstances as "normal" and it helps me view myself and my body as normal and functioning, not some broken vessle that needs to be managed.

KK, hope you are feeling okay. I've been thinking a lot about you and your cysts and everything else you are battling. I can't even image what it's like to deal with that on top of being pg and having the two little one's. As with everything else, I guess you just get through it, huh? *sigh*

FF - Luke is looking so different in those more recent photos! So cool! Glad it's going well and he's "porking up" nicely. Glad you are feeling better, too. I don't think there is anything worse than being barfy and having to care for a child. THE WORST.

I better run. I really need to get some things done today while DH is around to keep Mia outta my hair. I need to sort through baby clothes and diapers and figure out what I need for this babe. Oh my... is this the early stages of nesting?
Whew! I saved us before we slipped to page 3.

Not much to report here- still kinda fighting off that sicky bug.

Megan- I'm so glad you have a wonderful midwife who has helped empower you for this birth. I can just tell how excited you are.

Time fer laundry.

My May Mamas:

for you all!

And some questions I have had in my head:

1) Why did you pick the username you did?

2) Do you have any other nicknames (that you want to share)?

3) Whatcha been reading or watching (movies) lately?

My answers:

#1 is a nobrainer. Duh. My whole name is Elsanne Marie.

I have oodles of nicknames. Marnie (while I was growing up this was my name) Ellie (short for..) Mrs. G (while teaching in a high school), Elsa (for spanish speakers).

Reading To Kill a Mockingbird presently! I've been on a "classics" kick due to a big time refusal to read them when I "had" to. Loving this book. Hard to decide: internet, or read? Still no tv so no movies lately.

Elsanne... (1) I was really lame and uncreative. My 1st 2 initials are KK, a lot of family called me KK when I was growing up, dh still calls me K or KK at times. (2) SuperK or SuperKK. (3) We just watched March of the Penguins with T (his very 1st movie) and he *loved* it. (Told him not to look during the sealion scene, though.) I've been reading through remodeling stuff, because we're planning on remodeling both of our bathrooms this summer (have I mentioned that I'm *insane*?... but unfortunately, it *needs* to be done--eg, dh can't stand up straight in our shower--and the only reason we're going to do it sooner rather than later because remodeling with an infant and toddler sounds easier than with 2 toddlers...)

I cannot see Mrs. G. A lifetime ago, eh?

I hope everyone with the sickies (small and large people alike) get better. This seems like a super germy winter.

Meg, I've been thinking of *you* (and wondering how the pg is going)... I'm really glad things are going so well. You sound a lot more confident about your VBAC than I was when I was at this point pg w/ Z, and I'm glad (I think a lot of the worrying is really for nothing). I'm doing iron, too. I don't know whether you hadn't told us yet that you were having a boy or if it's just my pg brain, but woo hoo! "Normal" is good. My mom freaks out over every tiny thing, and I try to point out that if my caregivers are not freaked out, she shouldn't either. (Most of the time, the boys cheer me up and force me to be functional, but sometimes I'll admit they're exhausting!)

I just sorted thru newborn stuff, and it's helping me to finally get a little excited about a new baby. Gosh, newborn stuff is tiny, and mine don't even wear the really small stuff.

1) Turbo is the name of one of our cats (the first one and the big baby). Claudia... well, duh. Smoosh 'em together.

2) Claud, Claudika (Slovak dimunitive version), Cliff (long collegiate story not involving drinking), Claudster (although I haven't heard this one in a while... forgot where it even came from)

3) Reading: other than MDC and Olympics news, not much. Too crappy feeling. Might catch up on some book reading while on vacay next week. Something about the warm and sunny beach makes reading a book enticing... mmm... Movie watching: Movie? What's a "movie"? ha ha ha... Seriously, I haven't seen a movie other than cheesy Hallmark channel movies for close to 2 years. Not a big movie person.

1) Feeling very uncreative when I joined so went with what the little girl I was nannying for used to jokingly call me.

2) Pancake --family nickname and dimples (have two of them!)

3) Um, the mail--does that count?

C is getting sooo chunky with all the extra milk---super cuteness! I'll have to post some links to recent pics on the group tomorrow. Her language is coming along in the funniest ways. Sometimes she'll spout off long sentences so excitedly and only in a language she knows, but all the inflections/intonations/what have you are there. I had my first afternoon with the two girlies today and it went rather well except for it being incredibly exhausting going up/down stairs. Have a chiro appt. tomorrow for some hip/back pain that cropped up since E was born. Insurance/doctor's office headache about getting a referral so will be paying out of pocket. Doc's office was insisting I come in for an appt. to get the referral despite my concerns about bringing a newbie to a germy office. : : : Anywho....my first chiro visit so I expect some organic spelt brownie points from the vegan nuns.

Okay...time to head up to bed with my snuggly little girl.
Awww Heather I am so glad you posted because I have been wondering how daily life with 2 has been going. And to see you refer to her as E was just way cute, just like C! And way cuteness about the extra milkies for C. Sol has been asking for teta lately (it's summertime here suddenly so I've been wearing tank tops where she can SEE what she's been missing...suddenly I'll have a hand down my shirt and she's asking teta? teta?) and your comments make me want to let her have some when baby X is born. Wonder if that would be a regression in a bad way if she's already weaned?

TurboClaudia seems like a good name for a mama always on the go....

1. Well, I picked Jacqueline cause it's my name, although no one has ever called me that. I've been Jacquie since day 1. But, I've always loved the sound of Jacqueline and even tried going by it when I started college, but I just never felt like a Jacqueline, if that makes any sense. I feel like a Jacquie (but not a Jackie--though no offense to our May Mama Jackies!)

2. Nicknames: Jack (most in my family still call me this besides my mom), Jockey, Jockey strap (courtesy of my best friend in HS), Jack Attack

3. Saw Brokeback Mountain a few weeks ago. Very good. I'm reading a book from my local LLL library, "Mothering your Nursing Toddler." Plus Anne Lamott's book "Plan B." I usually have several books going at once...bad habit. And, I read a lot of magazines cause I can finish them quickly. Oh, and I've been watching a lot of ice skating the last couple nights. I love the Winter Olympics but am not as into it as I used to be growing up (or before kiddos!)

Tired this morning. Makes me wish I drank coffee! G was up 2 times in addition to his normal 6ish wake up time, and it took 1/2 hour to get him back to sleep each time. Yawn. But, dh did get him down to sleep last night, so that worked well. Transitions...

Off to eat oatmeal.
1. Two of my main interests throughout my life- nature and music- preferably in combo.

2. pretty boring- all versions of my first name.

3. I'm reading a pop-theology book written by a priest seeking genuine culturally-appropriate relationship to god among the Masaii in Kenya. Also just saw Harry Potter in a 2nd run theater with dh while swiggin beer and scarfin pizza.
Hey, I found the color. I was just looking at MDC from one host, and then, all of a sudden, when I went to reply, it's on VBulletin!! Weirdness. At least our smilies are still there.

Anywhoo, to answer the questions:
1) I have always been a Faery-type person, and not in a hippy-dippy sort of way, more like, a Pagan sort of way, with dark as well as light in the faery-ness. And well, I'm a Mama now, so put them both together...

2) Nae-Nae, Nae, Mina (longish story), Honey, Kiki, Rennnnnnaaaaaaaeeeeeee! (high school, don't ask! ) and I *think* that's about it!

3) I just read this cyberpunk sci-fi-ish book called "Vurt" by Jeff Noon. VERY good. Also, trying to catch up on my Rolling Stone magazines (I have a "lifetime" subscription and darn, it's hard to keep up when they come every other week! There's one in the bathroom, one in the car...) and re-reading "Echo" by Francesca Lia Block (one of my fave authors ever) right now.
As for movies, DH and I just watched "The Hunger", you know, that vampire movie with Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie? DH has never seen it, and I hadn't seen it since high school, back when I was a big ol' witchy black-wearing goth who smoked cloves and thought the movie was brilliant!
Well, um, it wasn't. DH was all like, "I want my 90 minutes back!!"
David Bowie *was* pretty hot in it, though!

Hmm, well, I'm a little addled at the moment; a friend and I talked earlier and I just found out she was pg!! With her second. Crazy stuff! She's psyched though and I am psyched for her. Hehe.

SOMEday I will finish this post! I started it at like 6:45 this morning!
Heather, how adorable about C getting chunky! And my heart was warmed when you were talking about E... Aww!
Elsanne, so funny about the tetas! I don't think it would be a "bad" regression if you decided to nurse Sol when the new one comes along...it's totally up to you, I think! She might just try it and then decide nto to anymore, anyhow...
Rowan may be nightweaned, but thinking about weaning him all the way makes me :Yikes!! It's not time for us, though. He'll be asking to "nursh!" for a while yet!
He went down for his nap like a *dream* at noon! So now I am going to pick up a bit, and get his dipes out of the dryer so I can watch a bit of a movie ("Happy Endings") while I can!

Hope everymama has a wonderful day.

ETA: Whoah, I used a LOT of smilies! Like, a LOT. (see that! There's one more!)

This new format is um, not so cool. Ads between each message?? Eww. Don't think I'll be able to keep up w/ my quick reads here. :

Or maybe I'll cheat and hit the "reply" button so I can scroll down through and read w/o the ads!

oops...baby up!
