I'm here. Again.
Very, very surprised to be pregnant (through birth control) with baby #3 just 3 months after Jericho died. Planning a UBAC. I'm due in the fall (October, probably),b ut I'm uncertain of my actual dates.

Checking in...

Hello everyone!

Is there a way to tell where my placenta is without an ultrasound? I am just really worried about it this time. With my UP/UC with ds#2 I never worried about it. I really do not want an U/S. I am 15 weeks right now. Could I hear where it is with a feta-scope later on?

Anyways, I am doing well. Not as sick as I was. I am only throwing up 1-2 times a day now! Yay for me! Baby is moving well and I feel pretty sure that this baby will be healthy.

Dd really hopes this baby is a sister for her!

I look forward to hearing about the babies coming soon!

welcome mamas! Good to hear from everyone!
Things are well over here- accept that all 4 of us are still in the midst of a nasty cold. And my GP thinks I have a UTI- so I am on antibiotics for 10 days...totally sucks!

Besides that- lots of baby motions, flexes, and dialation- he/she dropped a bit and is really putting lots of pressure on my pelvis.
Its soo cool to feel the flexes and remember when I had Sydney- just how intense they got- just like they are now, but stronger--- ooohh it was such a great feeling!
Funny, we are only given just so much and no more than we can handle. That is what gets me through it- knowing my body will not push me over the edge...it'll bring me right up to it, but no farther.
I just hope I can handle the 2 little ones orbiting me while I try to focus and labor with ease.
hey- anyone wanna come out here and watch the girls while I'm birthin?

he he he

i can hear my placenta as a certain kind of whooshing noise.. the cord has a different whooshing noise.. helpful, huh? it's on the right side for me, a little toward the front. Got the fetoscope around week 20 I think...

I'm also just checking in. I'm still around and very pregnant, 3 days until my "due date" I'm wondering what my MW is going to say tomorrow at our "40" week appointment.. I'm still going to put off any interventions for another 3 weeks atleast since my LMP was exactly a week behind the U/S date.

Aurora -- it depends on where the placenta is, you won't be able to hear it if it's around back, obviously. But sometimes you can tell because the sound changes from place to place. (It needs to be *really* quiet in the room for you to hear it.) To me it sounded more muffled. If I hadn't been able to find it, I might have had an U/S, I don't know. Certainly I would have been very aware of how things we're feeling and if I had any spotting or bleeding.

Thanks for the info.

I figure I will just relax for now and then get a fetascope when I am 20 weeks. I will see what I can discern and then go from there. I don't want an U/S but because I am feeling concerned about it I might if I can't find the placenta by sound.

It might not help *yet* but I knew where the placenta was because it was the only place that I wasn't getting kicked or feeling parts firmly. (Top left - my left - and near the back of my uterus last time!)

I love how in touch you mamas are with your bodies. I wish I could distinguish what is what in my belly- I only know when he/she is awake or asleep, or burrowing in my pelvis!

I am thinking of doing a henna tattoo on my big ole belly. I wish I could find someone aroud here who could do it! I am so not that talented!

Littleteapot, wishing you a peaceful healing joyous pregnancy. I know many of us keep you and your family so close to our heart. You went looking for healing from Jericho and found another little person. She's surely blessed.

oh, Aurora! How exciting that you're feeling better and getting closer to meeting your daughter (hope so for your DD's sake!) or son (which are certainly sweet, too!). I'd make sure to pay attention to things that stick out in your mind - like the placenta placement.

Amyjeans - happy Henna-ing! You'll have to post pics.

My little UP/UC baby is 2 mos old today, so I'm not expecting right now, but you can add me as a UC alumni! It was absolutely far and away the best birth experience ever. I am forever changed and still floating above the earth about it!

It's definitely a learning curve! During Vince's pregnancy, I could always tell where his back was, and sometimes his head, and usually his knees but I could never be sure about his butt. As it turns out, he was positioned posterior, but I didn't clue in to that until AFTER he was born and then it all made sense. Next time I will be better at trusting what I'm feeling. I think it had not occured to me that we might not have perfect presentation, so I never even thought of it.

Take a look at my blog to see what a belly tattoo will do during pregnancy! I haven't uploaded the final pic yet, but you can see it rearranging in the 3 that are there. (right hand side of the blog, near the bottom)

Thank you, Spark. I was hoping to run into somewhere again, because I loved being on the DDC with you.
This baby was a huge surprise - we were using protection and had not planned to TTC for at least 6+ months. As my friend said, "if someone wants to be there that badly, they will be" - so I'm trusting that.

Hi Mamas! Can I join in the fun?

I am about 7 weeks along and planning my first UP/UC. I am SOOOOOO absolutely stoked about it. I'm sure you all understand. I've had the honor of experiencing the UC's of two of my closest friends... even catching their precious babes (1 hubby was a little squeemish and the other mama asked me to in the absence of her astranged partner) so this is naturally the next step for me. I don't think anyone alive could experience that kind of magic and not do it themselves, eh? I've even been a Doula for 4 yrs and nothing comes close to a UC.

At any rate here I am *SO* looking forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome Kristie! Hey- you're in New London? I'm in Simsbury!
Congratulations on your newest edition!
when do you think you're due?
Wow... that's not too far away! Neato.

Well, according to my date of conception which I'm positive was January 6th I would be due on about September 29th. We'll see... can't ever put too much stock in dd's since I've always been at least a week past dates.
yes, welcome kristi! congrats on your pg and I just realized why your user name seems familiar. I responded to your sister's "pleased to meet you" post and gave her some hopefully encouraging words. She mentioned your name and that you're a doula. anyway, round and round we go! And I agree. There is a lot of magic in a UC.

Oh! That's great... I made sure I gave my sissy a gentle nudge in the direction of MDC She's 8 yrs younger than me so I've been able to influence her a fair bit in a positive way. Couldn't convince her on Homebirth though... she's totally for it but for some reason when it came to her she kinda caved. Cutie pie.

Totally off topic sorry

Thanks for the welcome!!!
