omg, i am so sick. vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, fever. dh is coming home halfway through the day to help me out but i have no idea how i'll get through the next few hours.

took some oscillo, but it doesn't seem to be helping much. what else can i do to feel better? any ideas on what light things i can eat that are gluten and dairy free? usually i'd do toast or saltines but i can't have that.

this sucks bigtime.

Keep from getting dehydrated. Small, frequent sips of water.

I hope it passes quickly and no one else gets it.

Ginger

Ugh, I hate that feeling. Teeny amounts of water maybe with a little salt for electrolytes.
Ginger helps with the nausea and to settle the stomach. I like Reed's Ginger Beer (not a real beer)...not sure how easy it is to find in your area or that you really want hubby running to find it on the way home. I buy it at Von's in the health food section...or maybe a fresh slice/dried slice of ginger in some sparkling water?
Hope you feel better soon.

that would be appropriate considering that's dds#2's name! i'll have dh try and get some on his way home. i did grate up some fresh ginger last night and made a tea. i think i drank too much though cause it made me feel sick from my belly being full.

so i'm feeling significantly better, but now dh has it. and i think the little guy has it too. how can you tell with a newborn? he doesn't want to nurse, i can hear his tummy making weird grumbly sounds, he didn't sleep after about 2am, and his eyes have just looked sick and tired over the last two days. do you think thats what it is with him?

how do i get him to nurse more? or should i even be encouraging his tummy getting full? i know i didn't want to eat any food when i was feeling terrible. anything else i can do to help him?

rice cakes!

since we are part of the allergy group, veg stcok or broth can be soy based, so chicken stock is safer.

glad you feel better!
