I am so in LOVE!!!!
I had those "hard stomach" painless contractions for a long time, and the herbs and primrose oil had already gotten me dilated to four centimeters (inner and outer Os) just walking around the week before. This was all so new for me! With my other two kids I started from "scratch" each time, or maybe two centimeters on the outer Os.
Then the contractions got more intense, but only lasted under a minute and were totally manageable. I called my midwife, still thinking it all could wear off like it had been doing all the week before.
She said I was overthinking it and was coming right over. It's a good thing!
Geoffrey Finn William (Peace-bearer/ Fair/ Protector) was born at home after 4 hours of active labor thanks to the help of my hubby, my friend, and my midwife. He weighs in at 10 lbs, 6 oz, the exact weight to the ounce of his older brother...
No episiotomy, no tears, and once my water broke, he came right out after seven minutes.
I also think it's cool that my friend had her baby in her sling and she (5 months) was awake and watching the birth!
The horse trough with hot water was heaven and the contractions were very short and kind to me.
I swear all my labors reflected the personality of each kid!
This baby is so calm and sweet! (of course, they're all sweet!)
