My ds cannot drink milk, he gets diharrea so i have tried substituting soymilk in it's place (altho not for drinking, just for like making oatmeal with etc.) and he gets "sandy" "gritty" diapers, is this normal? I do not give it to him becuz of this but wonder if he is truly senstive to it or if this is normal for soy, they are also loose, not exactly diahrrea but really close. Thanks to anyone w/any advice/info/experience .

It is really common for dairy sensitive babies (children) to also have problems with soy. My DD has both - she's just a nursing babe and reacts to both in my milk so I had to eliminate them. So, it is certianly possible he is sensitive. You could maybe try rice milk or almond milk (if nuts are ok) instead and see how that goes.

Thaks for the replies I now he does fine w/rice milk, but was hoping for something with some protien in it kwim? Well we havn't tried nuts yet (he just turned 3 and were following the wait tell 3 yrs for peanuts thing) but i think i will try the almond milk and see if that goes well, it's bound to have more protien than rice i think. Goats milk, that is interesting, i wonder if they sell it here, do you get it in a healthfood store or reg. store? we live in a teeny tiny town in alaska, we have a fair variety of things but some stuff we just can't get. Does the goats milk taste ok? Does dc drink it?
