I have 11 pocket diapers cut to be newborns when I concieve. How many would a pocket user need 2 dz 3 dz?

For any diaper type, you'll probably want 3 dozen diapers total for a newborn, so you can wash every 2-3 days. Newborns go through 10-12 diapers a day on average, plus they're still going through them while you wash, and sometimes you go through more than one at a diaper change due to sudden pee/poop.

I did CD my DDas a newborn with 2 dz XS fb and 2 dz kissaluv 0s.

good advice thus far

but... maybe it's just me, but i realized i like pockets much better on my older dd (they're about all i use on her), but gosh... they're about the last ones i grab when i'm putting dipes on lucy... and even then i only grab them because they're one piece (prestuffed, of course). i guess i like the 'double protection' with a fitted and a cover for those crazy nb poo explosions!! just food for thought.

(and of course, even with all that, i still *do* in fact, use some pockets. i think on some of my homemade ones -- vb pockets -- i just didn't cut the pul stride wide enough and maybe i didn't cut the fleece narrow enough in the stride... so basically it's *really* easy to overstuff ... and if you overstuff a pocket on a nb, you'll get poo leaks like crazy)

I used FB almost exclusively with my DD as a newborn. I am going to try the pocket with gussets.
