microfiber towels as sewn in soaker?

Can you use microfiber towels (the Walmart ones) as sewn in soakers? I love making diapers, but I HATE : making the soakers. I have a ton of micro towels from our pocket days, but don't use them anymore. I can't see why they wouldn't work as soakers but I could be missing something???

There is some concern that microfiber directly against the skin can dry it out. I always put a layer of something between my microfiber soakers and the baby.

I've used microfiber towels as sewn in soakers in fitted diapers (sandwiched between 2 body layers of flannel) and they work fine. I usually end up cutting them down a bit because the whole towel is pretty big. Since they are a knit fabric you can sew them in and not worry about fraying...I usually just zig-zag around the edges.
