Wool longies problems

Ok, I made dd some gorgeous longies out of a 100% wool sweater, I felted the sweater first. I put the longies on her this morning and as many of you know my dd is a heavy wetter but ususally longies do the trick for me but these longies acted like cotton. It was as if I'd put a pair of cotton pants on her, they were completely soaked. When I make longies, I try them on dd first to see if the insides get a bit damp and if they do I lanolize them and that takes care of it but I'm pretty sure lanolizing these isn't gonna help them. Anyone else ever have this problem?

I've never had that problem, but I've heard that some wool gets so processed that ALL of the lanolin gets stripped. I would just try lanolizing the heck out of it. Try the non-soaking lanolizing method: hand wash the longies and squeeze them dry in a towel. Then lube up your palms with some solid lanolin and rub it all over the damp wool. Repeat until the whole thing is drenched in lanolin. Then let it dry. It will probably take a day or more to dry with all that lanolin, but it should be pretty waterproof after that. . . I hope.
