Our baby boy has arrived! He was born yesterday (the 7th) at 3.10a.m. after 45 hours of laboring. The first 18 or so were regular contractions (5 minutes apart, for the most part), but just the breath-taking kind, not the this-is-really-really-hard-work kind. Things picked up around 1a.m. on the 6th and we had our doula join us at 4a.m. She was an amazing support. William was born in water at a birth center, and daddy caught him. He is very healthy and beautiful and we are so grateful for his little life! He weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 20 inches long. It was such hard work but amazing and everything turned out the way I was picturing. We are so blessed!

It sounds like a great birth experience! I am glad that it turned out well for everbody! Rest and take care of yourself, I am sure that long of labor must have been tiring.

Anya, Congratulations! Looks like you'll be using the "boy" receiving blankets I sent you (during our online swap at MDC).

It sounded like a long but wonderful birth. I am happy for you.
