Absorbency - Hemp vs Sherpa vs flannel

I know that hemp is way more absorbant than flannel, so you need less of it, but how do hemp and sherpa compare? I have a ton of sherpa and no hemp. I am making Very Baby AIOs and 8 layers of flannel just isn't cutting it, but the ones I made with 4 layers of hemp are fine. How much sherpa would I need? 4 layers? 6? Or should I just buy more hemp? The sherpa is 91/9 cotton/poly.

I think that hemp and sherpa have similar absorbencies, but hemp is trimmer.

I used 3 layers of sherpa in mine (one full body layer of velour on top of that), but DS is 19.5 months old and a moderate wetter. So you might need 4 layers. I think they're supposed to be roughly the same amount of layers though (unless you're using hemp jersey, which still needs 6-8 layers).
