I did it! Thanks for the help!

Here it is, my very first dipe! The inner is fleece, I decided since water ran *right* through it that it would be perfect for an inner. The outer is leftover flannel from a quilt I made my sister--it's super soft and thick. I also have an inner layer of an old T shirt to make it a bit thicker. I used an old cut up towel for the soaker, triple layered. I happened to have "extra soft" velcro, and it really is very soft.

I decided not to sew along my elastic--the elastic is a little further in than I would have liked, so the casing would have been wider than I was happy with. I'm happy with no casing, though.

Anyway, I tested it out, and I was able to dump a half cup of water into it before it soaked through. Until it was totally soaked, the fleece didn't feel wet, so it was doing it's job.

Anyway, thanks again for everyone's help, it was fun once I jumped in!

super cute!

you might want to add fold back tabs of loop on the inside. That way you can fold the hook tabs back and have them stick when you send them through the wash. It will save your diapers and help prolong the stickiness of your velcro. Otherwise the tabs will start grabbing everything in the wash and get gummed up.

You did an AWESOME job for your first diaper. They only get better from here! Isn't it fun?!?
