Know of any good trainers patterns?

Ok, I am so fed up with the paper training pants for my 28 mo DD. She was just lying on her back playing with her feet up in the air and she decided to take a pee right then and it pooled out of the nice gap and all over herself and the floor. She is just potty training and so she is sporadic about using the potty and she is not one to be pushed. I started cd with this second one. I wished I did it with my first. Anyways, I can't get her to switch to cloth so I thought if I could sew some cute training pants with maybe some disney princess material on the outside of the pul she would switch. The only catch is that it has to be able to catch a MAJOR spill. She only goes pee like 3 times a day and it is a lot.

So do you know of a pattern like this?

There's a free one on the nappynetwork link - that link has been added to the pattern resources sticky (Thanks, Moonbucket!). I haven't tried it though. I've made the DD Potty Dance Pants pattern for my nephew, and they work great - but they just hold one pee. I don't know if it'd be enough for your DD.

Ah, yes, Vera, but that is 7 year old pee! Any idea what sort of volume that would be? Or how that volume compares to that of a smaller child?

you might try this..

buy disney princess panties that are 2 sizes too big for her. Cut them down the sides where the seams are. Make a contour that is REALLY widei in the back and front and narrow down the center that will fit into these panties. After your contour is finished, lay it onto the panties and use a zig zag or three step zig zag stitch right down the center to sew it to the panties. Then, sew the side seams of the panties back together. If the legs still gap too much, use a little FOE on them to help snug them up and create a "gussett" effect.

Then, get some wool or fleece and make her some shorts (or pants) to use as a "cover" and she'll never know that's what they are for.

If you want the above trainers to be waterproof, you can cut a piece of PUL while you have the panties laying flat (sides cut open).... just cut the top and bottom the same, the wings the same but then, cut the PUL like 1 inch wider than the panty through the thigh area. Bind the legs of the PUL only )not the PUL and panty.. leave the panty leg separate so that these will dry quickly and be less likely to wick) in FOE stretching as you sew. Then, Sew up the sides of the panty and PUL together just like you would for a panty. Then bind the waist of the panty and PUL together with FOE. Makes a great waterproof trainer for cheap and you don't need to buy a pattern.

Hope I didn't confuse you.. it's easier than it sounds

I have NO CLUE. He's been wearing Publix brand (same as White Cloud) size 5s without leaking though.

Amber,
I understand what you are saying. I had to read it over like 10 times though.
