question about already made diapers

I have already made diapers and DS has already out grown them. My questions are how can i mark them for sizes, I didn't do anything when i sewed them so no real way of telling what size they are expecially when it will be a while intill they come back out.
When i sewed my diapers i put the hook on the belly and loop on the tabs. Every time they wash they get stuck together is there anything i can do for these?

I did that with one of my first diapers and, I hate to tell you this, i ended up throwing it out because it was snagging and ruining all my other diapers in the wash. I realize now that I should have just taken out my seam ripper and replaced the hook with loop and loop with hook (which is what I suggest for you ), but I was new to sewing and it didn't even occure to me to replace it .

as for sizes, you can buy size tags at alot of fabric stores online and IRL or you can make your own with fusable interfacing, cheap cloth and a permanent marker. Iron the fusable interfacing onto the cloth and then you can cut it, write on it with your permanent marker and sew it on. The fusable interfacing will stop the fabric from unraveling. Or you could go the super easy route of writing directly on the diaper. Or if you are about to put them away for the next baby, you could pack them in marked ziplock bags.

I would try cutting a strip of loop fabric that's long enough to cover the hook, and stick it on there before you throw the diaper in the pail. That's what I do on some of my diapers that don't have fold-back tabs. Of course, it would be better to just rip it out and switch it, as already suggested. But if you don't have time to do that at the moment, the long strip should work. And you can always use that loose strip of loop later on a new diaper, if you need it.

There's a thread right now about tags and labels and there are some good ideas in there for using ribbon. For your existing dipes, you could make a ribbon tag, seal the ends with Fray-Check and make an overlapping loop, putting the overlap at the back (hidden on the diaper side of the loop) and then just topstitch the tag to the back of the diaper, lining it up with your existing topstich line (or serging edge). I know I like to have a consistant system so I would try to do something that I would be happy applying to any new diapers I sew. HTH!
