I found it so disturbing that I walked out on the film; something that I haven't done in years. I turned to my partner and said, "I can't watch this. I will meet you across the street at the Dragon Restaurant." This was when the character Chris was packing a shotgun to shoot his girlfriend.
I am a fairly strong person but I am very affected by media. After having my girl, I can't watch children being hurt or killed in movies.
I am in a relationship with a man that I love and who loves me. However the issues of vunerability in relationships, and especially in pregnancy were very disturbing.
I read spoilers to find out the end and my suspicions were correct that he murders his pregnant girlfriend so he can still be rich. And he gets away with it. He now has it all since he got rid of that little problem.
On one of the spoiler web-sites a woman brings up that the movie is misogynist. Many men write it to refute this. gad
Another reason that this 'got to me' so much is that I share the same name as the murdered pregnant woman.
