We're set on Atreyu Sabastian now that we know it's a boy.

hehe, I'm glad you guys liked the HAH-PAH story. It's definitely not off the table, could be a good middle name like Mimid said, or maybe I can train my in-laws to say R sounds with a lot of shock therapy

Lillake: are you on LJ as well? That boy's name is so distinctive, and it seems like someone in my ddc on LJ is using it as well! I'm "vomitola" over there, so Hi if you are!

Aloha...

Were going with the name Sara. We are naming our DD for DP late mom. She passed a way suddenly at 56 about 9 years ago. Our first DD is Amber and I promised if we had another we would use Sara. This is the first time we have ever had a name ahead of time. It took us 3 weeks to name our last baby, 2 weeks for the one before that.
For middle names I am considering Emily (my dearest friend), or Constance Grace. Constance is dp grandma. She's a really awesome woman and has been an inspiration to me. And I like Grace. We also give all our kids a Hawaaian middle name starting with K.... it just kinda worked out that way, lol. Our kids all have lots of middle names.....

I'm one of those people who can't stand hearing about other people using my dd's name. We chose Violet, then along comes the Incredibles, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lemony Snickett, and Bennifer. (exception made for tortellinimama ) GRRRR. I said "I swear we're naming the next baby Cletus." (If anyone is actually named Cletus out there I apologize.) I tend to like my kids to sound like they're buddies from the nursing home. So the world thinks I'm crazy, but if this one is a girl, I think we're going with Clementine. Anyone think that's horribly mean? I think its sweet, and I think "Clem" is old-man adorable for a little girl.

My dh and I easily agreed on the first name. We're going to use it for either a boy or a girl.

Whenever someone finds out what name we've chosen we always hear "for a boy?" or "for a girl?". Not many people can seem to see it as either way. It's easier for us to know the baby's name now especially because we don't want to know the sex yet.

Thanks for the dispensation! Somehow we managed to not hear about Jen&Ben's Violet until after we picked the name. I hadn't even thought of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory one, and I didn't know there was a Violet in the Incredibles or Lemony Snickett. Oh, well. Since we're planning on homeschooling, at least she won't have to worry about having 5 other Violets in her class, unless we're absentminded enough to forget that we've already used the name!

And, no matter how popular it gets, I can always be comforted by my uncle's reaction of "*Violet*??" and my mil's "Yeah, I don't really like Violet." At least I can remind myself that it's not a popular name among our families...

i think Clementine is a beautiful name! not horribly mean at all........ and Clem is a precious short form which I think she will love for a lifetime!

i have another "is this horribly mean" question..... our first son is named for my maternal grandpa "Hunter" and his middle name is "Gregory" (my dh's name). we are expecting another boy, and we really like "Hudson" for the first name. First, are Hunter and Hudson too similar? For heavens sake, my mother used to mix me and my brother's names up all the time (Donna & Brent), so I'm sure even if we named them very differently I"d still mix them up. For the second part of my question, we thought we'd give him a middle name from my dh's side. DH was very close to one of his grandfathers, and his name was Romeo, and "Hudson Romeo" goes well with our last name. Is Romeo a really mean middle name? Kids eventually get around to discussing what their middle names are, and well..... just wondering what other people think! I like it but don't want to sentence my child to a lifetime of hating his name. Be honest!

I am not preggars YET but I do have names picked out.

My son's name is Micaden Reese Dewayne. My sister picked his first name, my mom picked his middle (which is for my great great uncle) and his daddy picked Dewayne cuz he liked it better than Wayne, which is his middle name.

I want to keep the 2 middle names going on and the one family name.
I like boy names for girls.
If I have a girl, Her name will be Maicyn Delayna Elizabeth, Logan Paige Elizabeth , Evan Alannah Elizabeth, or Landyn Aleia Elizabeth. Of course, Elizabeth is our family name! Alannah is the female form of Alan and my dad's middle name is Allen soooo...

A boy will be Lathan Koah Edward or Xian Koah Edward. Edward is my step-dad's name.

You're not crazy at all. Clementine is actually on my list of girl names I like. I really like that name. (Don't worry, I didn't end up choosing it. ). I dig Clemie/Clem for short.

In my HO I do think Hudson and Hunter are too much alike. Maybe it's just because I'm not a fan of same first letter names for siblings. Unless there's multiple siblings and onl like 2 have same first letters or something. My friend's DD's name is Alanna and when she found out she was having another DD she specifically searched for another "A" name. (She ended up using the name August) I dunno..just seems kinda generic to me. Romeo would be a fine MN. And ya, kids don't pay attention to MN's anyway. I will say that the name does flow.

ok....and I'm not trying to be snotty, I know many people choose alternative spellings...but is your spelling of "Sebastian" intentional or just a misspelling in your post? Just curious...
I think we are pretty definite on James for his first name

but we are still deciding between
Steven
Sebastian
(after family members)
Riordan
Aidan
Reilly
Dermot/Diarmuid
Lorcan
Dubhlainn/Doolin
(for our Irish heritage & his Irish conception )

Yay! That's probably the first time I didn't get the "Yuck" response about the names!

I don't know why but that makes me very excited.

My soon-to-be DS is Logan Vance. Logan and Vance are both from UK cultures and mean various types of land. LV is my adopted (step) father's grandfather's initials. Logan Vance was a name that was the hero in a romance I read years ago. I just really liked the name, so...

since this one's a boy, we've picked Jefferson Carter and we're going to call him J.C. dh's grandfather was a J.C and we wanted to name our son after him. i really like the name Jefferson, but not Jeff. (sorry if there are any jeff's out there, i really don't know why i don't like it) if this little one were a girl, she would be Cameryn Elizabeth. we already have a Kya and a Carson (both girls) so cameryn kinda fit well.

i really like the name clementine!! really cute!
