seriously sick...feeling like a horrible mama

well, i got my root canal on Wed. and that actually went well, but that evening i began to get the chills and became extremely cold, despite the room being 70 and having sweats, socks, etc. on. then, i got a high fever...its gone back and forth since then....chills, then a high fever.
i dont know whats wrong with me but i dont want to go to the doc and have them put me on something that i cant take while nursing..
but im feeling like a horrible mother...all i can do is roll over and let him nurse, and fall asleep with him. he hasnt seen the outside of my bedroom since Wed. evening. i feel so horrible, guilty, etc.
im starting to feel better but that happened for an hour or so yesterday too and then started back on the chills, then fever routine. its horrible!!!!!!!!!!

poor you!!!!! that sucks so bad. i totally understand you not wanting to go to the doc...antibiotics would just give y'all thrush just a thought, a bad one, but a thought...might you have the flu??? if so, you're probably almost over it, so going to the doc wouldn't help now anyway. and don't worry about the baby getting it. my toddler had a god-awful virus two weeks ago, a horribly high fever for four days, chills, backache, etc. and none of us got it. I was super worried about Ivy getting it, but she was fine. yeah for bfing antibodies! I hate that you feel so bad and hopefully you're almost over it. my toddler was better on day five...s and you're a wonderful mama. Nursing through an illness totally sucks and I know that you are doing everything for him that you can...

I'm sorry you're feeling so sick, Rachel. A horrible mother wouldn't take care of herself, and it sounds like you are doing just that. I hope you feel better soon!

i am sick too...i went to the doc and i am taking amoxicillin.

Aww, I hope you feel better soon! Get lots of rest and vitamin C and try not to stress... you gotta take care of yourself to take care of the kids.

i think i did. he was really grouchy last night and i can only assume that its because i didnt have much milk left. i had to take a shower yesterday and didnt want to w/ Ethan (we do every day when i am well) and i expressed some milk for dh...i could only get 1 oz. out of both boobies! so, that makes me think yes, i did have decreased milk supply.

i am feeling better...thanks for all the warm fuzzys!!!

we all had the flu a few weeks ago and i came out of it pretty well but i guess it wasnt really finished with me...i think trauma to the tooth combined with very little sleep 3 days in a row put me in jeopardy...but i soooo did not want to go to the doc. dh threatened that if i weren't better by the end of this weekend he was taking me in, even if it meant Ethan would have to drink formula. G-d forbid!!!!

im allergic to penicillin anyway so i couldnt take that if they wanted to.
