sleep all day up all night.

I call him "Party Time Jayden" at (no-kidding) 3-5:30AM. He wants to stand, coo, even yell. I try to nurse him to sleep but he just kicks and pops off to babble. I whisper, keep lights off to show him it is night night time. We co-sleep and are not sleeping at night right now because he wants to be up all night. I guess I just want to hear that I'm not alone. Is this common baby behavior? Is there a scientific explanation?

He is learning to talk. This is a developmental milestone. Any milestone can wake the child at night, as his mind is so excited by it. It will pass. Make sure and talk to him A Lot during the day. And let him "talk" of course. Talk over his day during the nighttime routine. We went here, we saw grandma, we played with so and so, we went shopping. Just get in the habit of this debriefing. Read a whole bunch of books before bed too, letting him "read" the pictures. Ask him questions about what he sees.

Thank you for posting your reply. You had some really awesome suggestions.
I am a bit of a book worm so I read to my boys everyday. Jayden prefers to talk over top of me most of the time. I don't think he has figured out that having a conversation requires taking turns. It's pretty funny.
