My Revelation of the Day

I always get a shock and awe response when people find out that I have 5 kids AND I homeschool. After looking over my calendar for the month I realized there is no way I could manage these kids and their sports/activities schedules if I had to try to work around public school as well. I'm in shock and awe of the public schoolers who are able to function easilly! I've got 2 days this month where I've got nothing going on and many days where I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to be in 2 places at once. Seriously, my kids would have to have no social life if they were public schooled because it would just be too much.

I know what you mean!! I only homeschool two, but after babysitting older siblings twice this year while friends had babies, I was worn out just getting them to school!!! And then the afternoon rush, between picking up kids in different places, getting snacks and homework, then dinner...who would have time for any afterschool activity!!!!

haha! I was just thinking the other day how much we would try to squeeze into that 2 hour chunk of time after school...yikes! I was frantic!

Not only that, but when my kids were in PS, I spent more time helping them with their homework than I do instructing them now!

It was just crazy.

Yep, same here. Plus when trying to help I had to deal with *Ms. ___ says we have to do it THIS way, not that way! Mom, I'll get a black mark* (read in a really whiny, just on the edge of panic voice). It not only took longer, it was way more anxiety producing.

Me too! And I would miss them so much! They would miss eachother. When would we "hang out"? What about fund raisers? And parent/teach conferences? Most of which are not "younger sibling" friendly. Then I'd have to find a babysitter.....

Not to mention all the driving around would be worse with waking up at the crack of dawn to drop your kids off to school Ahhhhh, I love that part of hs'ing
